YoGems Inter School U17 Dehradun Football Championship’ Day 01: 5 teams aced to the next round

Dehradun city’s first-ever digital based Inter School U-17 Football Tournament finally kicked-off on 30th August at the Pavilion Ground of the city. The Day 01 of the tournament witnessed Round-Of 16 matches amongst 10 strong school’s team of Dehradun region. Total 18 teams of the region has registered their participation in the ‘YoGems Inter School U17 Dehradun Football Championship’.
In the first match of the day 01, Maharana Pratap Sports College challenged The Vivekananda School’s team as the inaugural match of the tournament. Maharan Pratap’s boys team took charge over the game with attacking game plan, Faizan Ali (70 min), Shubham Pal (73 min) and Devansh Rauthan (75 min) were the only goal-scorer in the match. The Vivekananda Team on the other hand were unable to pass the ball cleanly in the duration of the match and the first match of the day ended while announcing Maharana Pratap team as the winner with 3-0 scoreline
Second match of the day 01 lined-up Doon Valley Public School against Social Baluni Public School. The match flagged-off with great start from both the teams. As the match advanced, Doon Valley team claimed their possession over the match in the second half of the match. With great efforts of Vikas Bahadur (81 min), Shubham Rana (83 min), Mahip Pun in (85 min) and Lokesh Rawat in (86 min) the team scored total 4 goals in the extra time of the match. On the other hand, Social Baluni Public School scored two goals in the duration of extra time of the match by Vipul Bashet (in 84 min) and Anubhav Rawat (in 85 min).
Third match of the Day 01 offered chances to Army Public School, Birpur (Team A) and SGRR Public School, S.D Road. Army team formed their domination over the match from the initial minutes of the game as team’s forward Amit Singh scored first goal of the match in 12th minute of the game. Sagar Nepali affixed the domination of Army School’s team with fantastic goal in 22nd minute of the match. After half-time, Army School showcased fearless game and scored 2 more goals Bimal Kunwar (32 min) and Anish in (57 min) to clear their way to the next round. SGRR team’s Yuvraj Negi was the solo goal scorer for the team in the (60th min) of the match. The match named Army Public School as the winner against SGRR Public School with scoreline 4-1.
Fourth match of Day 01 Kendriya Vidhyalaya, O.N.G.C and Scholars Home School tried their team strength in the fourth match of the day. The game started with decent performance from both the teams players. Jay Shrivastava of Kendriya Vidyalaya O.N.G.C team scored the first match of the match (in 37 min) of the match.
