Women’s Hockey World Cup: Clinical India surpasses Italy’s challenge to enter Quarter Final Stage

Asian hope Indian Women Hockey team has performed with all their effort to surpass lower-ranked Italy’s challenge with an easy 3-0 victory in the play-off played on Tuesday. Now Indian team will lock horns against the group B top spot achieving team Ireland in the quarter final match on Thursday for place in semi-final.
Indian side registered an easy win against the counterparts Italy with 3-0 goals. Lalermsiami opened the match for India in the 9th minute of the match, in the later match Neha Goyal advanced India’s dominance in the match with a superb flick in 45th minute of the match.
Vandana Katariya in 55th minute stamped India’s victory in the game by scoring goal with good show as a forward attacking player. Determined with the performance for the day, Indian side with great defensive approach not allowed panicked Italy side to get even a single start in the match and entered the semi-final stage matches with 3-Null scoreline.
Importance of Semi-final advancement
If Indian side takes the legacy forward on Thursday and ensures their spot in semi-final lineup. This will be a historic moment for the whole nation, as the home side has just reached the top 4 positioning previously just for 1 time in World Cup history.
