Women’s hockey team completes South Korean derby with a draw
March 12, 2018
The Indian women’s hockey team has won its series against South Korea 3-1 after it drew the fifth and last match against the hosts. Vandana Kataria scored the lone goal for the Indians, while Bumi Kim scored for South Korea. The five match series was the first time the two teams played on South Korean soil.
The score line in the end was reminiscent of the game which was closely contested. The Indians failed to capitalise on the penalty corners and it was only in the 48th minute that they could go past the South Korean defence. The match was a tame end to an otherwise entertainment filled series with India winning the 1st, 2nd and 4th matches to register their first series win against South Korea.
