West Bengal on way of defending Santosh Trophy title

Defending Champions West Bengal showed their prowess once again in the league match of the 78th edition of the Santosh Trophy. Maharashtra had to face a 5-1 loss from them on Wednesday. The Santosh Trophy is the premier state level football championship in India.
Mahrashtra had actually taken the lead in the first half. West Bengal scored their first goal in the 55th minute. A series of five goals in the span of 34 minutes deflated Maharashtra. Bengal are now at 6 points with this win.
