U-19 State badminton: Noida shuttlers storms into finals

Under-19 UP state badminton champion of the doubles category in girls will be from Noida as pair of Anusha Goyal and Khushi Pant stormed into the finals. While other pair of Nimisha and Ayushi, who is also from Noida got a walkover in the semi-finals. The semi-finals were played in Moradabad on Sunday. In such a situation, the title of the doubles category will be between the girls of Noida. In the singles boys category, Noida’s Chirag Seth has reached the finals.

Chirag Seth defeated Ashwini Singh of Lucknow 25–23, 21–10 in the semi-finals. Earlier in the quarter-finals played, the city player defeated Ayushraj Gupta of Prayagraj 22-20, 21-14 in straight sets. Chirag and Ashwini fought hard in the first set of the semi-finals. Chirag eventually won the set by a double digit margin. In the second set, the Noida player did not let the rival player stay on the court for much longer. The match between Chirag and Ashwini lasted 35 minutes. At the same time, Anusha Goyal teamed up with Khushi Pant and won 21-13, 21-11. Both of them easily defeated the rival pair in just 30 minutes. The title matches of all the classes will be played on Monday.

Nimisha and Ayushi of the city got a walk over in the girls’ under-19 semi-finals. Both of them were to compete against Abhiksha Mishra and Shivangi Singh, but for some reason the match did not take place. After which both Noida players were given a walk over.
