U-16 Cricket tourney: Xavier boys triumphs over Oriental Academy by 43 runs

St. Xavier International School registered 43-run victory over Oriental Academy Afghana Mohalla in the ongoing ‘Healthy is Wealthy’ 30 Over U-16 School Cricket Tournament being organised by Country Cricket Club and Project Model Higher Secondary School, in Jammu.
Earlier, Oriental Academy won the toss and decided to field first. St. Xavier, batting first, scored 166 runs in 30 overs.
Vasu played a fine innings of 56 runs followed by Rajat and Harshit Bhat, who made 20 and 10 runs respectively.
Ashfaq scalped three wickets while Sadiq claimed two wickets and Izan, Sameer and Afan took one wicket each for Oriental Academy.
Chasing the target, Oriental batsmen failed to face the bowling attack and were all out on a total of 123.
Kazim, Ezan, Sameer and Ashfaq were the main scorers with 21, 20, 19 and 18 runs respectively.
Rajat and Harshit grabbed three wickets each while Vasu took two and Pragun picked one for St. Xavier.
For his all-round performance, Vasu was declared as the Man of the Match.
The Medical officer PHC Gharota, Aditi Sharma was the Guest of Honour in today’s match.
The match was officiated by Sanjay Kumar, Kashish Abrol and Garu Ram.
