Tribune girls edge past Harkrishan school in a thriller

Ayushi scored a double as Tribune Model School girls registered a 4-3 win over Sri Guru Harkrishan Model Senior Secondary School in their opening match of The Tribune Trust Football Tournament in Chandigarh.
Disha and Shivanshi added a goal each to the Tribune tally.
Brahmjot scored twice, while Rupali struck once for Guru Harkrishan School.
Earlier, New Public School beat Ankur Public School 2-0, while Carmel Convent School drubbed Kids ‘R’ Kids School 5-1.
In the boys’ category, Saupin’s School registered a 4-1 win over Kids ‘R’ Kids School. Utkarsh scored a brace, while Vihaan and Manvir scored a goal each for Saupin’s School. Paramveer was the lone scorer for Kids ‘R’ Kids.
Guru Harkrishan boys beat Kundan Public School 3-2 on penalties after both sides were locked 1-1 at the end of the regulation time.
DAV Public School went down 0-1 to New Public School, while Infant Jesus Convent School blanked St Peter’s School 3-0. Anmol struck twice, while Vikrant found the back of the net once for Jesus Convent.
Fourteen tricity schools are participating in the tournament.
