Trainees of Guru Nanak Stadium hogged the limelight

Trainees of Guru Nanak Stadium, clinched the top honours in the boys and girls sections in table tennis at the District-Level Games for Boys and Girls U-18 that concluded today in Ludhiana.

Rain played spoilsport on the final day, forcing the organisers to reschedule the matches today. Competition in some events could not be completed on Thursday. Now, these would be held along with those in the U-25 section, from August 6 to 8.

Competition in 17 sports disciplines was organised by the Punjab Sports Department during the three-day event.

The games were conducted under the Tandrust Punjab Mission and to celebrate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.

In the boy’s group, Bal Bharti Public School and Green Land Public School, Civil City branch, secured second and third positions, respectively, while in the girl’s category, Hindi Putri Pathshala, Khanna, finished as runners-up, whereas the third position was bagged jointly by Bal Bharti Public School and Green Land Convent School, Sector 32 branch.
