Tashna Agarwal clinches bronze in Commonwealth Chess Championship

State Under-9 champion, Tashna Agarwal continued her brilliant performance and won Bronze medal in ongoing Commonwealth Chess Championship at New Delhi. Tashna collected 5.5 points in seven rounds, for Bronze medal. Tashna is also current Under-9, Uttar Pradesh state champion.

Under-8 category saw children from countries like Malaysia, South Africa, Singapore, Bangladesh and many more others participation. Total of 50 players were part of this category alongside Tashna. In the first round of the match, Tashna defeated South African to clinch all the points. In next round she drew the match against National player, thus showing her ability in the process. She also became the first player to clinch this medal in her whole district. Chess association secretary KC Joshi told that this achievement is big for both state and district. He also wished her best for the future Tournaments.

Earlier, Tashna achieved 5th ranking in World School Chess Championship

In under-7 category at World School Chess Championship Tashna earlier achieved 5th ranking. Not only this, but at National School Championship Tashna won a silver in her long list of medals. Tashna who lives Noida sector 56 is a student of Shiv Nadar School in class third and started playing chess at the tender age of six. In only two years she has proved her decision right by all her achievements.
