Ajeetesh Sandhu joined the illustrious list of Indians who have won on the Asian Tour as he claimed a dream win at the Yeangder Tournament Players Championship (TPC) yesterday. The Chandigarh-based golfer carded two-under-par 70 to total 12-under 276 and win by one shot. The third Indian to win on Asian Tour after SSP Chawrasia at the Hero Indian Open and Shiv Kapur at Yeangder Heritage. Sandhu also became the second Indian after Gaganjeet Bhullar to win the Yeangder TPC.

Inspirational stuff

Sandhu, 29, is the 23rd Indian male golfer to win an international pro title and it is the 78 title overall. It is the 62nd Asian Tour title for India, and 10 of them have been co-sanctioned with Europe. It is the 45th title won by an Indian outside India. “I’m still shaking from the last putt but now that I’m thinking about it, it is absolutely amazing. I thought I would be a lot more nervous than what I was, but I had so much of support from India. So many people, including people I don’t know were messaging me. That really calmed me down,” said Sandhu.
