State volleyball championship from Dec 1

The Chandigarh Volleyball Association will organise the State Junior (boys and girls) and Senior (men and women) Volleyball Championships at the Sector 7 Sports Complex from December 1-3.
The tournament will be dedicated to late Kamal Sharma, former president of Chandigarh Volleyball Association, the organisers confirmed in Chandigarh.
It has also been decided that a trophy in the name of Kamal Sharma will be instituted and awarded to the winners, the organisers added.
During the championship, the association will also shortlisted players for the 68th Senior National Volleyball Championship, scheduled to be held at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, from December 25 to January 2. The probable squad for the 46th Junior National Volleyball Championship, which is scheduled to be held in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, from February 4-9, will also picked during the championship.
Players born on or after January 1, 2002, will be eligible to participate in the junior category.
The interested teams need to register for the tournament before November 30, the organisers said.
