State Basketball: NPS & Vivek HS wins their opening matches

Hosts New Public School (NPS), Sector 18, registered a 51-32 win over St John’s High School, Sector 26, in the boys’ category on the opening day of the Servo Youth State Basketball Championship in Chandigarh. Harkirat was the star of the match as he scored 17 points for NPS. Vaibhav scored 10 points for St John’s School.
In the second match of the day, Vivek High School, Sector 38, defeated Ankur School, Sector 14, 40-19. Tejbir scored 11 points, while Arjun added six points to the Vivek High School tally. Nikhilesh and Gul netted four points each for Ankur School.
In the girls’ competition, Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, drubbed NPS 24-9. Stuti and Vanya scored six points each for Sacred Heart, while Priyanshi managed five points for NPS.
Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, registered a narrow 28-27 win over St Anne’s Convent School, Sector 32. Vijayanti gathered 16 points for Carmel Convent, while Kunjal added 16 points to the St Anne’s tally.
