Match 16: Delhi Capitals (DC) v/s Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

SRH won the toss and decided to bowl 1st, DC didn’t able to chase the score of 129 for 8 wickets. The match took place yesterday at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, Delhi. This was a SRH’s second-highest score in Power Plays this season. From 68 for 1, SRH succumbed to 111 for 5. They wobbled a bit in the chase with DC bowlers keeping it tight. Before this match, SRH’s stand-in skipper Bhuvneshwar Kumar had gone for plenty in the ongoing edition of IPL. He had to stage a comeback and lead from the front in the match versus DC. The same happened and the captain led from the front. He castled Prithvi Shaw’s stumps with an off-cutter as the right-hander failed to connect and played an erratic shot. The 29-year-old struck once again to get rid of Chris Morris for a 15-ball 17.

While DC batters failed to read the lengths and get accustomed to the slowness of the surface, skipper Iyer played a handy knock to propel the team score beyond 100. He showed more application and attacked only when necessary. He scored only 18 runs in boundaries but still managed to score more than a run-a-ball. He ran hard between the wickets to keep the scoreboard ticking and respected the tight bowling. Many would have expected a dominating show from Rashid Khan at the Kotla. However, it was his senior pro, Nabi, who played a major role in SRH’s third win on the trot.
