Sport gives back to society; Tennis tournament to aid Cancer patients

Cancer awareness has been our society’s objective since long. It has long been emphasised that citizens need to group together to fight this deadly disease. Van Sports Club, Baliawas, Haryana has decided to take a step in the right direction. It is organising the Asian Under-14 lawn tennis tournament from 14th April to 21st April 2018. What makes this tournament special is that all proceeds from the meet will go towards the betterment of children suffering from cancer.

Mallika Rudhvanshi, Director, Van Sports Club, said that the tournament has organised to raise awareness about cancer and what the public can do to help families struggling with the disease. More than 100 participants from multiple nation will compete to win the coveted prize. The organisers have partnered with CanKids, an NGO working in the field of blood cancer research and treatment.

Krishang Raghuvanshi, a national level tennis player, has been made the brand ambassador of the tournament. The 12-year-old is a cancer survivor who has overcome odds to beat the disease and represent India in international tournaments. He said he is happy to become an inspiration and motivate other children to live a complete life.

Van Sports Club has been known to champion social causes and has conducted over 30 tournaments aimed at promoting societal development.
