Shishu Niketan School clinches 6-a-side footy title

Shishu Niketan School, Sector 22, beat hosts St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, to win the boys’ U-18 title on the concluding day of the St Xavier’s Six-a-Side Football Tournament in Chandigarh.
Ridham put Shishu Niketan ahead in the 14th minute, but Gaganpreet scored the equaliser for the hosts three minutes later.
Rigzin helped Shishu Niketan regain the lead in 20th and two minutes later, Shobhit made it 3-1 for the side. The hosts tried to make a comeback into the match but an alert Shishu Niketan defence line guarded their territory well to claim the title.
In the boys U-12 competition, Asmit scored a hat-trick to help St Kabir School, Sector 26, register a 5-2 win over the hosts and clinch the title.
It was a day of double delight for as Shishu Niketan beat the hosts 3-2 on penalties to win the boy’s U-14 title.
