SD School cagers stay on course

SD School, Sector 32, registered a 36-28 win over Vivek High School, Sector 38, in the UT Open U-19 Basketball Championship here on Thursday.

Nitin scored 10 points, while Jashan Bahra added nine points to the winner’s tally. For Vivek High School, Arjun Sameer and Asadh Singh scored 10 and eight points respectively.

In another match, a joint effort by Tejbir (10 points), Sunny (9 points) and Pardeep (7 points) helped SGGSC School, Sector 26, beat St Peter’s School, Sector 37, 46-20. Atul Rana (9 points) was the top scorer for St Peter’s.

Karun’s 17-point effort, meanwhile, guided Sri Guru Harkrishan Model School, Sector 38, to a 38-25 win over DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8.

New Public School, Sector 18, drubbed Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, 42-26. Ajmer (8 points), Parveen (6 points) and Lakshya (6 did) were main scorers for New Public School.

Strawberry girls win

In the girls’ category, Strawberry Fields School, Sector 26, humbled Learning Paths School, Mohali, 31-19. Nikhita was the top scorer for Strawberry Fields with nine points.

Girls from New Public School outplayed St Anne’s School 48-30, while Manav Mangal School, Mohali, downed Vivek High School.
