School teacher wins Gold in Indo-Bangladesh Athletics Championship

Such is the nature of competition and training in sport that being an athlete in a full time job. But there are exceptions that astound everyone so as to what people can achieve if they put their mind to it. Doctor Manu Dahiya proved all her critics wrong over her 20-year career. Working as a teacher in a government school, Doctor Dahiya has always been a strong woman. Having won her first Discus throw championship in 1998, she has never looked back since.
The Hindi teacher proved her prowess once again in in Indo-Bangladesh Athletics Championship held in Delhi from 14 th to 16 th February. She bagged gold in the 35 plus women’s discus throw event. The win qualified her for the International Athletics Championship to be held in Malaysia.
