Saurabh and Mithun earns spot for Semifinal matches

Shuttler Saurabh Verma and Mithun Manjunath have won their individual quarter-final matches to reach one step closer to the finals of Russia Open Badminton Championship.

Saurabh was the first one to count result in favor of India by registering an easy win against Israel’s Misha with straight set win points of 21-14, 21-16. On the other hand, Mithun also enhanced India’s chances to win medal by clinching quarter final match in his favor with 21-18 and 21-12 scoreline against S. Ramchandra. Now both the Indian expectations will play against each other in the semi-final to reach the final stage of the Russian Badminton Open.

In the other matches for the Indian side, Rituparna Das lost his grace against America’s Irish Wang with score 17-21, Varushali Gumadi lost his spectacular drill against Malaysia’s Yein Mei with 9-21 and 11-21 scoreline. Shubhankar Dey lost his proceeding against Russia’s Vladmir Malkov in a close game of 20-22 and 15-21.

India’s Saurabh and Mithun will play their semi-final match against each other today. One from the both India’s representation will surely reach the final match of the tournament.
