gHosts Ludhiana waged a spirited battle against Sangrur before losing 5-6 in the girls U-19 section in the kho-kho event during the 64th Punjab Inter-District Schools Games being held at Government Senior Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar and Shaheed-e-Azam Sukhdev Government Senior Secondary School, Bharat Nagar Chowk, here on Wednesday.
Ferozepur fought it tooth and nail to outperform Jalandhar 7-6 to secure the third rank. In the boys’ section, Faridkot blanked Mohali 12-0; Mansa drubbed Ferozepur 10-2; Hoshiarpur defeated Tarn Taran 11-3; Ropar beat Barnala 13-8; Amritsar outplayed Pathankot 11-1; Kapurthala prevailed over Nawanshahr 8-7; Ludhiana routed Moga 14-2; Jalandhar got the better of Bathinda 19-14; Mansa overwhelmed Mohali 15-3; Ferozepur thrashed Faridkot 10-0; Barnala outclassed Pathankot 9-2; Amritsar outperformed Ropar 9-5; Jalandhar beat Hoshairpur 7-1; Bathinda outplayed Tarn Taran 8-2; Patiala defeated Muktsar 9-2; Moga outnumbered Nawanshahr 11-7 and Ludhiana pipped Kapurthala 11-3 to qualify for the knock-out phase.
