Saksham triumphs District Badminton Championship

Noida’s young chap Saksham Awasthi finds his way directly through the State team after finishing first in the District badminton championship organized in Dharamshala in between 13 and 15 July.
In the final game, Saksham registered a nail-biting win against counterpart Gaurav Kapoor with a steady scoreline of 8-5. In addition of adding one more title to his achievements, Saksham got a direct entry into the State-level Championship to be played in Una from 28th July.
Saksham’s father while interacting with media informed that the total over 250 players from the different region participated in the three days event played in Himachal Pradesh. Saksham represented Kangra district badminton Association in the tournament and registered easy win in all his matches.
Sudarshan Awasthi, while talking about the event said that Saksham played won his first 3 games easily against Harsh, Rahul and Shubham with scoreline 11-9, 11-4 and 17-14. In the semi-final match, Satyam Sharma appeared as a tough match for Saksham and witnessed a long rally between the competitors. After spending over 1 hour time in the court, finally, Saksham emerged as the winner of the game with 21-14 and 21-15 points. At last, Saksham earned the trophy by playing an easy match against Gaurav
