Rosary Students bag 12 Medals at Kung Fu MeetFebruary 12, 2019, Pune
PUNE: Eight students from Rosary School, in Warje, won four gold and eight silver medals in the state-level Kung Fu competition held at Aurangabad recently.
From the SSC wing, Rohan Katare of Class IX won a gold medal in ‘tao lu’ and silver in ‘sanda fight’, while Aditya Dhane of Class IX won a gold in sanda fight and silver in tao lu. Yash Bafna of Class VIII bagged a silver medal in the tao lu event.
From the ICSE wing, Om Thakur of Class VIII and Shrutika Jadhav of Class VII each won a gold medal in tao lu. Aditya Yelangur of Class VII won a silver in tao lu, Dhruv Pansare of Class VIII and Vedantika Shendkar of Class VII each won silver medals in both tao lu and sanda fight.
The students were guided by headmistress Sheela Prakash and trained by karate facilitator Umesh Kolhe.
Social studies exhibition at Gurukul
Gurukul school recently held Social Studies Exhibition 2018-19. Students from Classes V to IX presented their creative ideas and solutions to everyday challenges using working and non-working models and exhibits.
The models and charts depicted changes in life from the Stone Age to the present age of communication and information technology. The students also put up intricate models on the theme of ‘Pune Smart City’, different civilizations etc.
The Class VIII students displayed exemplary team work in planning and organizing the exhibition. A QR code was created by the students to enable their parents to get all information about the exhibits.
The HDFC School recently celebrated its first sports day.
The chief guest was Rajeev Sardana, the director of HDFC Limited. The guests of honour were Dilip Apte, the trustee of The HDFC School in Pune, education leader and principal of The HDFC School in Gurugram Anita Makkar, Hadapsar police station sub-inspector Prasad Lonare and Anjan from The HDFC Limited.
The track and field events were interspersed with drills. Races were also organized for parents, while the teachers took part in a tug of war. Winners got a medal and a certificate.
