Ritu and Savan crowned best boxers at State boxing Championship

GGDSD College (Sector 32) and Coaching Centre (Sector 56) won the women and men overall championships, respectively, on the concluding day of the 43th Senior Men and 19th Senior Women Chandigarh State Boxing Championship in Chandigarh.
The Sector 32 team won the title by scoring 20 points, while Burail Club claimed the second position with a score of seven points. In the men’s category, the Sector 56 squad scored 20 points to win the overall title, while GGDSD College finished second.
In the women’s category, Ritu was named best boxer, while Jyoti Kumari was adjudged best loser. Savan Gill claimed the best boxer tile in the men’s category and Harshdeep was named best loser.
Meanwhile, in the individual category, Rituz defeated Jyoti to win the 48kg gold medal. Anjali and Gagajot claimed a joint bronze medal. Monika won the 51kg gold by defeating Arti Mehra, while Rajbinder Kaur finished third. Savita overpowered Simran to claimed the 54 category gold and Ritu defeated Aanchal Yadav to win the 57kg gold.
