RFYS: Chandigarh’s GMHS marches into SFs

The Government Model High School (Sector 36) boys played out a 1-1 draw against Betkuchi High School (Guwahati) to march into the boys’ sub-junior semifinals in the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) 2019-20 National Football Finals in Navi Mumbai.
Chandigarh forward Michael scored the equaliser for the team in the second half to help his team top the league table. The Sector 36 team is represented by the players of the Chandigarh Football Academy (CFA). The team will now face Progress High School (Goa) in the first semifinal.
In the second semifinal, the Unique Model Academy (Imphal) will take on Betkuchi High School, who took the second position in their pool after a 1-1 draw with the Chandigarh team.Meanwhile, in other league matches, VELS Vidyashram (Chennai) thrashed Vrajbhoomi Public School (Ahmedabad) 7-0, the Unique Model Academy crushed MSP HSS (Kozhikode) 5-0, and Progress High School edged past Vedas International School (Delhi) 1-0.
