Record 10 medals for J&K in NZ BoxingFebruary 14, 2020, Jammu, Shimla
Jammu and Kashmir boxing team returned with record 10 medals, including a silver, in the just concluded North Zone (NZ) Boxing Championship at Shimla in Himachal Pradesh from February 7 to 10, 2020.
The medal tally included nine bronze medals and one silver across different weight groups.
“The boys made history by winning highest ever number of medals at the National level competition, so the team deserve appreciation and encouragement,” General Secretary of the Association, Rajan Sharma said.
The J&K team was accompanied by Anil Wadera (Coach), Harinderpal Singh (coach- cum -manager) and Naresh Kumar (assistant coach).
Meanwhile, J&K Olympic Association (JKOA) and the J&K Amateur Boxing Association congratulated the boxers and their coaches for the exemplary performance.
The Medal Winners: Aarif Wani (Light Fly), Silver; Naveen Sharma (Fly), Bronze; Anil Kumar (Wentam), Bronze; Asif Ali (Feather), Bronze; Ranbir Singh (Light), Bronze; Vinod Sharma (Light Welter), Bronze; Sanjay Sharma (Welter), Bronze; Anil Chib (Middle), Bronze; Ankush Sharma (Heavy), Bronze and Sarfraz Choudhary (Super Heavy), Bronze.
