Ranji Trophy: Assam bowlers restricts Maharashtra to 175

Assam bowlers did a commendable job by restricting Maharashtra to a paltry total of 175 in 43.4 overs in their first innings of the Elite Group C Ranji Trophy match at the ACA Stadium in Barsapara in Guwahati yesterday. In reply, Assam were 77 for one at stumps.
Medium pacers Arup Das and Ranjit Mali removed four scalps each while another pacer Mukhtar Hussain took two.
For the visiting team captain Ankit Bawne was the top scorer with 75 off 94 balls. Satyajit Bachhav (40 off 65 balls) and Swapnil Gugale (25 off 26) were the other batsmen to reach double figures. At close, opener Subham Mandal and Rishav Das were at the crease with 31 and 33 respectively.
