Prime Minister Narendra Modi honours 18th Asian Games medal winners

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday honoured all the Asian Games medal winners in Delhi. Many athletics from the Delhi and NCR region also marked their presence in the prestigious ceremony. Santosh Kumar from Greater Noida region, NCPI Student Divya Kakran, Madhu along with other medalist from the Asian Games were invited for the ceremony.
Central Government has already announced cash prize money for all the winners of the Asian Games, India claimed total 69 medals in 18th edition of Asian Games including 15 gold medals. Before this medal count, India’s best performance was in year 1951 with 15 gold medals.
Before 2018, India’s best performance in the Asian Games was in the year 1951, the debut year of Asian Games. During that time Asian Games were hosted by Delhi city of India. Indian athletes have equalized the highest number of medal count in the year 2018.
