Pooja Sahasrabudhe and Sougata Sarkar were on top of the podium in all-ONGC

Pooja Sahasrabudhe defeat Mousumi Paul on the concluding day of the All-India Public Sector Promotion Board Table Tennis Tournament, which was taking place in Chandigarh. In the competition, an all-ONGC final and clinch the women’s singles title on Monday. Pooja lost the 1st game 9-11, but drew level with an 11-9 win in the 2nd game. The Indian No. 7 player was once again pushed to the back foot by Mousumi as she lost in the 3rd game by 9-11. She changed her defeat into victory by winning in next two games 12-10, 11-8 to take a 3-2 lead before Mousumi, who is ranked 15 in India, pocketed the sixth game 11-9. Pooja though kept her poise and relied on her experience to win the decider 11-6. Earlier in the semifinals, Pooja Sahasrabudhe overcame RBI’s Nikhat Banu 8-11 11-7 11-7 10-12 11-4 11-3, while Mousumi downed another RBI paddler Amrutha Pushpak 9-11 11-7 11-9 3-11 12-10 11-5. In the men’s singles competition, Sougata Sarkar of LIC had defeat FCI’s Mohammed Ali as he won 11-4 9-11 11-6 11-9 11-8 to top the podium.
