P.V. Sindhu chosen to be India’s flag bearer in Commonwealth Games Opening CeremonyMarch 26, 2018, Noida
India’s badminton superstar P.V. Sindhu will take charge of India’s contingent at the opening Ceremony on April 4 in the Gold Coast. Sindhu had won the bronze in the women’s singles competition in Glasgow in 2014.
She follows up after Rajvardhan Singh Rathore in 2006, Abhinav Bindra in 2010 and Vijay Kumar in 2014. The world number 3 is one of the favourites to win the gold this time around.
This edition marks a change from the last three competitions where a member of the shooting squad did the honour of being the flag bearer.
