Open Carrom Championship concludes

Two days open Carrom Championship concluded at Islamia College of Science & Commerce, Hawal, here on Thursday.

Rauf Tramboo, former Member J&K Sports Council, Altaf ur Rehman Physical Director Islamia College, Mudasir Khan President J&K Carrom Association, Adil Rashid Shah General Secretary J&K Carrom Association, Sheikh Saqib Treasurer J&K Carrom Association, Dawar Rashid Members, Nayeema Physical Teacher Government Higher Secondary School Khanyar and Arif Sultan Organising Secretary of the Championship were present in the final matches and prize distribution function.

Adil Rashid Shah, said that the aim of organising this event is to provide a platform to the players to showcase their talent.

“We received around 130 entries for this championship which was played in Senior, Junior, Sub Junior/ Cadets category in boys and girls section,” he said adding that a total of 122 matches were played in two-day event.

Results: Senior men: Furkan Nazir,1st, Adnan Yaseen, 2nd and Aijaz Ahmad, 3rd. Junior Boys: Mursal Aiyan, 1st, Aman Khan, 2nd and Sheikh Saim, 3rd. Cadet Boys: Arhan Khan, 1st, Md Ajwad, 2nd and Ilyan Bilal, 3rd. Senior Women: Aqsa Jan,1st, Fiza Yousuf, 2nd and Sharika Majeed, 3rd. Junior Girls: Ridha Madni, 1st, Hadiya Manzoor, 2nd and Sehar, 3rd. Cadet Girls: Hazika Manzoor, 1st, Sumiya, 2nd and Dua Jan, 3rd.
