Om Mitharwal wins bronze in Men’s 50 metre Pistol at the Commonwealth Games

Day 7 brought smiles to the Indian contingent as Om Mitharwal grabbed a credible bronze in the finals of the Men’s 50 metre Pistol event. He registered a score of 201.1, after being in the gold medal position till the last round.
Daniel Repacholi of Australia took the gold with a new CWG record of 227.2 and Shakil Ahmad of Bangladesh took silver with a score of 220.5. Hot favourite Jitu Rai, however, finished last in the 8-man final. Mitharwal had topped the table in the qualification stages with an above par 549 points.
