- India defeated New Zealand by seven runs at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Sunday to become the first team in history to record a whitewash in a five-match T20 International series.
- The Indian pacers, led by ever-reliable Jasprit Bumrah, shared seven wickets among them for 25 runs in match-changing 7.2 overs to restrict the Kiwis to 156/9 while defending 163/3.
- KL Rahul‘s aggregate of 224 runs was enough to get him the ‘Man of the series Award’. It also lifted him four places to a career best-equaling second place while Rohit Sharma (up three places to 10th), Shreyas Iyer (up 63 places to 55th) and Manish Pandey (up 12 places to 58th) are others advancing in the latest ICC rankings.
