Noida’s Anika Verma part of Indian team which clinches Singapore Open Championship

Youngsters from the city are shining brightly on the golf course. Recently, the Singapore Open Championship took place in that country on 23rd March. This women’s championship saw participation from 24 players representing 8 countries.
In the final, India beat Thailand in a close match. While India took 76 strokes to complete 18 holes, Thailand took 78 strokes for the same. Anika Verma was the part of the three-member Indian team which won gold. The 13-year-old is currently ranked number one in the under 18 age category. She has been representing India at international golf events since a year.
