NBA makes its first step in India; opens Academy in Greater Noida

The National Basketball Association is the premier basketball governing body in the world. It has finally recognised the love and passion of basketball players in India by establishing a state of the art facility in Jaypee Greens Integrated Sports Complex in Greater Noida.
21 talented players have been selected as the first batch of basketball aspirants who will train at the academy for free. They will be supervised by 3 experienced coaches who have been accredited by the NBA. Shaurya Kohli, a student of Army Public School Noida is the only player from Delhi-NCR to make the cut.
Selections were held in six zones – Mumbai, Delhi, Ludhiana, Kochi, Chennai and Kolkata and 45 players were shortlisted. After a rigorous camp, 21 were selected for the camp in Greater Noida. The camp will be fully funded by the NBA.
