NBA: Magic ends Lakers streak; Heat in form

  • Orlando Magic snapped the Los Angeles Lakers’ nine-game winning streak with a 119-118 victory on Wednesday.
  • For Orlando, Markelle Fultz finished with 21 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Aaron Gordon also scored 21 points, Wes Iwundu scored 19 points, Nikola Vucevic had 19, and Terrence Ross came off the bench to score 15 for Orlando.  LeBron James scored just 19 points but added 19 assists for the Lakers, who were playing without injured Anthony Davis.
  • In Eastern Conference,  Miami Heat emerged victorious 106-100 over the San Antonio Spurs. Miami has now improved to an NBA best 18-1 at home.
  • Nunn scored 33 points, Goran Dragic finished with 17 points, Bam Adebayo had 14 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists for the Heat. Jimmy Butler had 12 points and Duncan Robinson was Miami’s fifth double-figure scorer with 11 points. San Antonio’s Patty Mills finished with 21 points and converted five of 12 three-point attempts. The Spurs were 10 for 33 overall from three-point range.
