NBA: Harden to the rescue for Rockets, Celtics holds Hawks

  • James Harden scored 44 points with 11 assists and 11 rebounds on Friday, notching his first triple-double of the NBA season. Clint Capela added a season-high 30 points with 14 rebounds and Russell Westbrook added 20 points as the Rockets handed the Sixers their fourth straight defeat.
  • Boston Celtics escaped with a 109-106 victory over the lowly Atlanta Hawks.
  • Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Gordon Hayward added 18 points and six rebounds and Marcus Smart, starting for point guard Kemba Walker who was battling flu-like symptoms, notched 15 points with six rebounds and nine assists.
