National U-17 cricket: Chandigarh humbles Haryana; cruises into SF

Skipper Jashan Beniwal and Ansh Khosla shared seven wickets between them before Sanjam Preet Singh scored an unbeaten half-century to help Chandigarh beat Haryana by five wickets and enter the semifinals of the 65th National U-17 Cricket Championship at Daman & Diu on Monday. 

Opting to bat, Haryana were bowled out for 113 runs in 17.3 overs. Hitesh Sorout made 27 runs, while Mohd Saif and Karan Prabhakar hit 21 runs each.

Beniwal led the Chandigarh attack with figures of 4/23, while Khosla claimed 3/23. Sohail, Harish and Paras took one wicket each.

In reply, Chandigarh rode on Sanjam’s unbeaten 50-run knock to reach home in 19.3 overs. Bhavesh Saini contributed 21 rums to the chase, while Dushyant Thamman made a vital 18.

Karan Prabhakar, Rishabh, Anmol Narang and Shubham Lamba took one wicket each for Haryana.
