Mumbai Indians crushed Delhi Capitals by nine wickets in their IPL match here today, crucially ensuring a top-two spot for themselves for the knockout stage. With one match to play, Mumbai Indians are on 18 points, giving themselves two chances to make it to the final from the knockout round, in which the top-four teams would be in the fray.

Delhi Capitals wilted under relentless pressure from pace bowlers Trent Boult (3/21) and Jasprit Bumrah (3/17) and were restricted to a poor 110/9 in 20 overs. Mumbai Indians, the defending champions, coasted to victory in 14.2 overs, with opener Ishan Kishan remaining unbeaten on a 47-ball 72. Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by five wickets to remain in contention for a berth in the playoff stage. After restricting RCB to only 120/7 in 20 overs, Hyderabad reached the target of 121 in only 14.1 overs. With all teams having played 13 matches each, Mumbai are on top on the points table with 18 points.
