Mumbai Indians consider the Eden Gardens as their fortress, having lost only 2 games here since 2008. On Wednesday night, they proved it once again by beating the hosts by a margin of 102 runs. Batting first, MI scored 210 runs thanks to an outstanding knock of 62 runs off only 21 balls by wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan.

In reply, KKR never got rolling losing Sunil Narine in the first over with 4 runs on the board. The Pandya brothers chipped in with 2 wickets each to make sure that their team remained in contention with only 3 matches left to play.
