Mumbai Indians squandered chances in the field and left things for too late while chasing as their hopes to make it to the play offs went up in the air at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Batting first, RCB made 167/7 as 13 runs came off the last ball of the innings. Manan Vohra made 45 runs for the hosts. In reply, Mumbai lost three quick wickets and never looked to chase down the total falling 14 runs short in the end.
Hardik Pandya made 50 runs in an uncharacterised 42 balls, a slow innings compared to the required rate. Tim Southee managed to hit the block hole in the last overs and ensured that the visitors were didn’t get bat to ball. He was given the man of the match award for his figures of 2 for 25 in 4 overs.
