Mohali swimmers lift the overall trophy in Punjab State Swimming Championship

Mohali swimmers amassed 73 points to lift the overall trophy on the concluding day of the Punjab State Swimming Championship for U-18 girls at Panjab University here on Tuesday. Patiala followed in 2nd place with 40 points, while Jalandhar got 3rd with 14 points.
Arshpreet clocked 40:20 to clinch the 50m breaststroke gold before claiming the top spot in the 50m backstroke competition with a timing of 38:75. Disha Thakur, clocked 41:34 to bag the silver medal in the 50m breaststroke contest. Jalandhar’s Gurnoor (44:07) got bronze medal. In the 50m backstroke event, Arshpreet was followed by Jalandhar’s Tejaswani (41:59) in 2nd place, while Patiala’s Tanisha Soni (44:18) and Jalandhar’s Nandani (44:18) shared the 3rd spot.
Arshpreet had yesterday won a gold medal each in the 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke competitions. After clinching three gold medals on Monday, Jasnoor clocked 1.09:32 to add 100m freestyle gold to her kitty. She also dominated the 50m butterfly competition to grab her fifth gold medal of the championship.
Patiala’s Chetnaya (1.14:25) and Dhruti (1.19:72s) claimed 2nd and 3rd positions in the 100m freestyle, while Jasnoor (34:01) was followed Dhruti (39:80) and Gurnoor (41:37) in 2nd and 3rd ,the 50m butterfly contest. In the 4x100m relay, Mohali girls clock 5.16:61 to claim the gold. Patiala (5.29:61) bagged the silver, while Jalandhar (6.20:13) got bronze medal.
