Ludhiana’s Keshav bags 6 medals at State games

Ludhiana’s Keshav Thakur (19) has been adjudged the second best gymnast in the Punjab State Games held under the Punjab Tandrust Mission at Patiala from November 23 to 25. He secured six medals to help Ludhiana squad finish runners-up in gymnastics.

At Patiala, Keshav emerged winner in the roman rings and parallel bars events to clinch gold medals. He secured silver medal in the high bar event, besides securing bronze medals in the table vault and pommel horse events.
In addition to this, Keshav was named the second all-round gymnast.

Keshav Thakur has already proved his mettle winning positions at different level competitions. He started taking part in gymnastics in 2008 under the guidance of his father and senior coach with the Punjab Sports Department, Prem Singh.

Keshav impressed with his abilities, zeal to excel and also began achieving the desired results, instantly.

Currently, Keshav has been preparing for the Khelo India Games to be held at Guwahati early next year.

Ravinder Singh, District Sports Officer, appreciated Keshav’s achievements and wished him good luck for the ensuing Khelo India Games.
