Ludhiana district athletics meet starts

The three-day Open Ludhiana District Athletics Meet began at Guru Nanak Stadium. A large number of participants (boys and girls) in the U-14, 16, 18 and 20 years of age, besides in the men and women sections, are taking part in different track and field events. Prem Singh, general secretary, District Athletics Association, Ludhiana, Dronacharya Award winning athletics coach SS Pannu, coaches Sanjiv Sharma and Jasvir Singh and others were present at the opening function.
Day-1 results: 200m race (girls U-16): Kamalpreet Kaur of Bassian first, Pawanpreet Kaur of Bassian second and Kavya of BCM School third. 800m race (girls U-18): Navdeep Kaur of Bassian first, Neha Chauhan of Guru Rai School second and Sukhvir Kaur of Khanna third. 800m race (girls U-16): Taranpreet Kaur of Peace Public School first, Pawan Maurya of Guru Ram Rai School second and Neelam Kumari of Khanna third. 800m race (boys U-16): Jaspreet Singh of GGN Public School first, Satyam of St Francis School second and Paramvir Singh of GNPS, Sarabha Nagar, third.
800m race (boys U-18): Devinderjit Singh of GHG Khalsa College first, Aryan Saini of GMT Public School second and Rahul Kumar of Khanna third. 200m race (boys U-18): Vikrant of Sudhar first, Rajbir Singh of GGN Public School second and Arshdeep Singh of GNPS third. 3,000m race (girls U-18): Ritu Bala of Khanna first, Manjot Kaur of Khanna second and Kiran of Mundian Kalan third. 3,000m race (boys U-18): Mukul Dham of Multipurpose School first, Kishan Lal of SDP School second and Sanam third.
