Ludhiana boys wins silver in State Baseball championship

Ludhiana finished at second place to secure a silver medal in the 8th Junior Punjab State Baseball Championship held on November 10 and 11 at the PGS Government College of Physical Education, Patiala.
As many as 16 teams competed in this championship and Ludhiana boys gave good account of themselves to reach the final. However, in the final, they failed to match their opponents from Amritsar and lost it without waging any battle to contend with the second position.
Ludhiana, en route to the title clash, beat Ropar 4-1 and defeated Jalandhar 8-2 to qualify for the semifinals wherein they trounced Muktsar 8-2 to set up the summit clash with Amritsar.
In the final, Ludhiana lost meekly against 3-13 to finish as first runners-up. Hosts Patiala got third position while Muktsar secured fourth position.
