Ludhiana Athletics meet: DAV’s Harshika just too fast for others

Harshika Dhammi, a student of DAV Public School, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, hogged the limelight when she was adjudged the fastest runner among girl participants (U-14) in the Open Ludhiana District Athletics Meet held at Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana from September 27 to 29.

Harshika finished ahead of others in the 100-m sprint to win gold medal and was declared the fastest runner. Besides, she secured silver medal in the 600-metre race to bring fame to her school.

For her outstanding performance in this meet, Harshika was selected to represent Ludhiana district in the forthcoming Punjab State Athletics Championship.

Earlier, in July, Harshika secured a brace in the District Athletics Championship organised by the Punjab Sports Department under the Tandrust Punjab Mission wherein she won gold medals in the
100-metre and 200-metre races.

Jaswinder Kaur Sidhu, principal, DAV Public School, lauded Harshika for her achievements. She also congratulated Harshika’s coach Amandeep Singh for his guidance in this achievement.
