Lakshit clinch twin titles at All India Ranking Tennis tourney

Lakshit captured the singles and doubles titles of the All India Men’s Ranking Tennis Championship. In the singles category, the Noida player defeated top seed Jatin Dahiya in straight sets. At the same time, in the doubles category, he made an easy win in the final by teaming up with his brother Chandril Sood. Both the title matches played at Bilabong International School in Sector 34 were unilateral. The winners and runners-up players were awarded by the officials of GAIL India Limited. Gail was the tournament sponsor company.
Trailing 0-3 in the first set of the title match, Lakshit made a stunning comeback to take the first set 6-3. He did not give Dahiya any chance in the second set. The second set was won 6–1 and won the title. In the doubles final, Lakshit and Chandril Sood defeated Anurag and Jagmeet pair 7-6, 6-3. Lakshit won all the singles matches in successive sets in this tournament. The prize money of the competition was one lakh rupees. The players were honored by GAIL India Limited Executive Director AK Srivastava as the Chief Guest in the final. Gail India Limited’s Ramnivas Mittal, PK Roshan Kujur, Amit Kisspota, RK Dutta, Ramesh Kathuria, Organizing Committee’s Ratan Sharma, etc. were present on the occasion.
