Kothari students excel in green Olympiad

Ashwin Shenai, a Standard XII student of Mansukhbhai Kothari National School, secured the 19th rank, while Yasharth Pandey of std IX and Sufiyaan Nawab of std X were among the top 100 students that were recently felicitated with certificates and prizes for excelling at the National TERRE Green Olympiad.
Principal, MKNS Sandeep Khanna received the ‘certificate of excellence’ from Union HRD minister Prakash Javadekar at the recently held award ceremony. Over 1.50 lakh students had appeared for the online competition from across the country.
TERRE Olympiad is an initiative of TERRE Policy Centre to make our youth empathetic towards the environment.
The Olympiad aims to test students’ intelligence, knowledge and awareness about environment, forest, biodiversity, wildlife and climate change and prepares them to become future managers by bringing them closer to nature.
Moledina’s robot design hat-trick
Moledina High School bagged the best robot design award third time in a row at the First Lego League (FLL), Pune regional robotics competition held at John Deere India recently.
The team comprising nine students from std VII, VIII and IX has also qualified for nationals to be held in Chennai next month. Students had built the robot and programmed it to complete various challenges.
Vijay Jha and Suffiyan Shaikh led the team. Facilitators Momin Omer and Palla Noor from John Deere prepared the students for this competition.
Former chairman Mehmood Moledina, chairman Riyaz Omer, secretary S N Kotwal, principal Parveez Nida and supervisor Sameer Pathan encouraged and congratulated and encouraged the students for their success in the regional robotics competition.
Digital art fest at Silver Crest
A digital art festival was celebrated at Silver Crest School recently. Apprising students with the upcoming technologies and helping become tech-savvy, Silver Crest School participated in the digital art festival and competition organised by NIIT.
The topics for std I to V (Junior group) were ‘My School’ and ‘Festivals of India’, while those for std VI to VIII (Senior group) were ‘My Dream World’, ‘My India’ and ‘Amusement park’. Students from both the groups showcased their creativity using digital mediums and excelled in the same.
Science expo at Alard
Alard Public School, Marunji, recently organised a science exhibition for grades III to IX, in order to build scientific temperament among students.
The exhibits comprised innovative working models and demonstration projects based on topics related to issues like green energy and water conservation among others.
