Khanna zone girls edged past Dakha Zone on Day2

Khanna Zone recorded victory in the U-17 as well U-19 category on the second day of the District Schools Inter-Zonal Football Tournament for Girls being held at Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar, in Ludhiana on Wednesday.
In the U-17 section, Khanna Zone survived a scare against Dakha Zone before winning the tie 1-0 while in the U-19 group, Khanna Zone registered an identical win (1-0) over Ludhiana II Zone.
In another encounter in the U-17 category, Kila Raipur Zone eves proved their mettle as they warded off stiff competition from the PAU Zone whom they outplayed 2-0.
In the U-19 section, Rara Sahib Zone and Raikot Zone also wrapped up their matches. Rara Sahib Zone prevailed over Samrala Zone 1-0 whereas Raikot Zone beat the PAU Zone 2-0.
The three-day tournament is being organised by the Education Department in which 20 teams consisting of schools falling under all the zones of Ludhiana district are vying for top honours.
