Jamshedpur to host All India Inter Steel Plants Handball Championship from Dec 18

Tata Steel will organise the All India Inter Steel Plants Handball Championship from December 18 – 20, 2018 at Handball Ground, JRD Tata Sports Complex Jamshedpur.
A total of 100 players and officials will participate in the above mentioned championship. Teams from 7 Steel Plants would participate in the championship out of 12 affiliated Units of Steel Plant Sports Promotion Board (SPSPB).
Inauguration of the championship will be held on December 18, 2018 at 10.00 AM at Handball Ground, JRD Tata Sports Complex at the hands of Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel. The first match of the championship will begin at 9.00 AM on December 18
While Ashish Kumar, Head Sports, Tata Steel is the President of the Organizing Committee,
Avinash Kumar, Sr. Manager Sports will be the Organizing Secretary. Kamalendu Mishra of Alloy Steel Plant, Durgapur has been nominated as an observer for the above championship.
Handball game has been added in the Steel Plants Sports Board after a gap of 10 years.
Talented young handball players across the country would converge on Jamshedpur for the upcoming championship by December 17, 2018. Match fixture would be drawn at the Manager’s Meeting which would take place on December 17 (Monday) at the JRD Tata Sports Complex at 6:00 PM.
All the Matches will be played as per HFI rules. Both the Semi Finals will be played on December 19, 2018. The final match would take place on December 20, 2018 at 9.30 AM. All championship matches would have qualified referees of Jharkhand Handball Association and participating plant units.
A friendly Handball Match is also being organised on December 19 from 5.00 PM onwards between Tata Steel XI and SPSPB XI. (Players aged 40 yrs and above would participate in the same). SPSB XI to be led by Kamalendu Mishra.
