Inter-District Tennis: Dibrugarh script epic comeback against team Guwahati

In an exciting final match played at the KASA Indoor Stadium in Diphu, the Dibrugarh team came from behind to beat Guwahati 3-2 by winning the last 3 matches in a row.
Earlier, Orijit Chaliha of Guwahati opened the account with a win over Hirakjyoti Neog of Dibrugarh in straight sets 21-13, 21-13 in the men’s category while Chimran Kalita extended the lead by defeating Bornali Konwar of Dibrugarh 21-17, 21-16 in the women’s category. For Dibrugarh, Dixit Gogoi gave them their first win by defeating Jiman Kachari of Guwahati 21-7, 16-21, 21-12 in the U-19 boys category. In the U-19 girls team event, Isharani Baruah beat Suzan Buragohain 17-21, 21-15, 21-13 to draw parity.
In the men’s doubles category, the pair of Hirakjyoti Neog and Dibyojyoti Bora of Dibrugarh got the better of Orijit Chaliha and Saurav Das 21-17, 21-19 to lift the inter-district team title.
