Inter-district Games: Jalandhar, Moga starts their campaign with a win

Jalandhar and Moga districts scripted easy victories on the opening day of the football competition for boys U-17 in the ongoing 65th Punjab Inter-District Games being held at Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana.

Jalandhar proved too good for Football Academy, Bhaini Sahib, whom they beat 4-0 while Moga got the better of Muktsar 2-0 to begin their campaign on a winning note.

In another match, Punjab Institute of Sports, Mahilpur, warded off stiff resistance from Patiala before overcoming it with 2-0.

The fourth match played between Davinder International Academy, Amritsar, and Hoshiarpur ended in a goalless draw.

In the fifth match of the day, Faridkot blanked Tarn Taran 3-0 and in the next match, Rurka Wing defeated Bathinda 4-0. In the last match today, Ghuda Wing prevailed over Sangrur 2-0.

Teams from all districts, besides those from academies and sports wings, are taking part in this six-day tournament.
